Hey Beauties! (is doing everything in my power not to hop on ASOS right now) There are few things that really get me excited about styling in general and that’s finding a brand that is affordable and of SUPERIOR quality. I was scanning through ASOS and usually go straight for the “New In” tab, making my way through all the arrivals I noticed quite a few pieces I liked all from the same brand “Collusion”. I hadn’t even noticed the price till I made my way past a few more pieces and was in shock. Everything was incredibly inexpensive. The brand caught my attention for its streetwear vibe and simplistic yet dope logo “X”. As a human being I immediately thought “this is too good to be true!”… “It is ASOS after all, I suspect nothing less than decent quality.” A million and one things were discouraging me from picking up a few items to test out, but I never do what I’m told and went for it. There was just nothing stopping me at that price point.
ASOS is UNDEFEATED
I decided on a pair of joggers, cycle shorts, and a few tees, (one short sleeve and one long sleeve) you won’t believe me when I say that BEFORE shipping and tax, my total was $54.50!! Yes girl… $54.50 for 4 items.. I was shooketh and skeptical but nonetheless, the order was placed, and the waiting game began. I did notice that about 50% (if not more) of the items are “unisex” meaning they are sized to fit both women and men. One thing I love most about ASOS.com is they always notate what size the model is wearing and what her “specs” are being her height and weight. They also include a “size assistant” where you answer a few questions and they can give you a SUGGESTED size and a video to see the items of your interest in action. Everything I ordered besides the cycle shorts was “unisex” and there were both a male and a female wearing the items for my review in the description photo. I decided to choose expedited shipping knowing how impatient I’d be to receive my items.
Gurl…… CHILL!!
I tracked my order like a psycho and couldn’t wait to pickup my package. I was anxious to rip into this package which may I add had some incredible weight to it. I couldn’t get over how heavy this bag was. I assumed most of the weight was coming from the joggers but for $19.00 I wasn’t expecting THAT much weight. Enough was enough, I was ready to bust into this thing for the unveiling. Pulling out each piece I noticed they were all packed individually in separate clear sleeves and even though they were covered, I could still tell they were of excellent quality. I started with the joggers since secretly that’s what I was most excited for; AMAZING! The quality and weight of these joggers were like nothing I own from a non-designer brand. I can go as far as to say they are of better quality than a few of my designer joggers. The fabric was thick, and the inside was incredibly soft, and the branding was opaque and well placed. Unable to contain my excitement, I completely paused on my unboxing and had to throw these gems on. I (hand clap emoji) AM (hand clap emoji) OBSESSED! The fit was perfect, they were comfortable and effortless, and looked expensive AF. Ripping through the rest of the bags was the same excitement, the quality on each was exceptional and I was even more pleased than before.
Are My Chonies Showing?
Trust your gurl… we will go through each piece individually in the future, (stay tuned) but I was especially drawn to the neon fushcia long sleeve I purchased. I was in awe of the color and had to get my hands on it. Holding it up, the fabric was almost slinky like and super soft, the branding down the sleeve and chest was perfectly placed. I tried it on with the joggers and realized that the collar comes up slightly higher than a normal tee would, but I appreciate that, I fell it adds more quality to the piece and keeps it from looking like just another “t-shirt”. Pairing the joggers and tee wasn’t my vibe… it was a little too bulky and DING I remembered the cycling shorts I ordered. I can say this over and over but gurl they were bomb.. I’ll leave it at that. Not sheer in anyway, had a decent amount of stretch, and actually had a good amount of support. I know we’ve all purchased a pair of inexpensive cycle shorts and not only do they accentuate every imperfection on your lower body, but everyone knows what color chonies you’re wearing. These were the complete opposite and I haven’t reached for any other pair I own since. This paired with the long sleeve was the perfect match. Simple, street, and comfortable was the vibe and I was here for it. I knew this would be the perfect fit for a day on the town.
“Mucho Fresh“
I was able to rock this sooner than expected, I was invited to a graffiti art showcase and being it was outdoors; this was worthy. Throwing the fit on with full makeup and my hair actually combed, was a totally different mood. I loved the outfit more than before. I felt it needed a little zazz so I grabbed my “go-to” Zara link chain (sold out… annoying, I know) but your gurl got you with that dupe and my Yeezy 700’s. No outfit is complete for me without some form of socks and these 3 striped ADIDAS tube socks were the icing on the cake. It’s no secret I feel way too LOUD in color, especially one as bright as this so I decided to reach for a hat. I guess I always tend to do this when I’m wearing something that calls attention (disguise mode: ON) “Balenciaga or nada” was my motto this day and I flexed the classic black dad hat. This fit was lit and didn’t need anything else. I was not only comfortable and stylish but I was cool.. like your girl wasn’t overheating!
This top (even though long sleeved) was fresh and in no way too thick or had me sweating. I received multiple compliments and wanted to tell everyone that my base pieces were less than $25.00 (I literally had to hop on ASOS just now to get accurate pricing and saw too many new things… I don’t think I can resist not getting back on when we’re done here) I think you know where I stand with this brand and the pieces I purchased. Is it even legal to sell clothes of this quality for this low of a price point? *sarcasm*
