I Found You Miss New Bootie

Hey Beauties! (adjusts my new blue light glasses ayyyyy!) Listen up QUEENS.. we are officially on our way into cooler weather and we got some thangs to cover in order to come out slaying the season.

Year Round Sis

Where I currently am, it’s 98 degrees (and Nick Lachey is nowhere in sight) so we need to get it together and prepare. There are 2 staple pieces I need for fall/winter season and that’s a dope a** leather jacket and equally dope boots/booties. Correct me if I’m wrong but I never saw “boots” leave department stores or online websites. Boots stayed on trend year-round and I’m here for it. It used to be that they stayed in the fall and winter but thanks to us “rebels” they found their way into spring and summer.

The shoes I love the most are the ones that I can not only wear with anything but comfy as well, something I can LAST all day and night in. What’s the point of having a bomb pair of boots and you can’t wear them for more than an hour? Comfort is key and (for me) the chunkier the heel the better.

I found myself gravitating toward a bootie with a block heel and tread. I of course wanted something a little more “street” and casual as opposed to something dressy or too simple. I’ll share that I have extremely easy access to Zara and admittedly am in there TOO much, so I shamefully was in there and spotted these booties. I was immediately drawn to them because they hit 2 of my desires and that was the tread and stacked heel. I liked the squared toe and front zip but passed on them initially. It was early in the season and I was slightly discouraged by the price, I knew I owed it to myself to “shop around” before committing. I’m a sneaker fanatic and will drop $$$$ without even flinching when I see something I like, but when it comes to boots or heels, I play the “let me make sure I don’t find anything else first” card.

The Boot Gods Spoke

Weeks went by and more and more and more winter gear was filling the racks. My need for a boot/bootie grew larger and I was on the hunt. After several stores and multiple websites, nothing compared to the Zara ones. I shamefully made my way back in there and decided to FINALLY put them on my feet. The leather was super soft, the boot itself was sturdy, and they were awesome quality. When I put them on, I got that “YASSSSS B**CH” feeling, I may have even said that under my breath when I caught a glimpse of myself in the full-length mirror. They were super comfortable, and I could tell I would be able to last all day and night in them.

There was no reason I could find NOT to purchase them so next thing I knew, they were taking their place in the hall of fame that is my shoe collection. It was a friend of mines birthday and she was ready to hit downtown Austin to celebrate. A chance for a night on the town and cocktails is all the convincing I really needed so it was on and poppin and my outfit wheels were turning. The weather was a little cooler this day and I knew I wanted to go for a more “street style” look since it was an “occasion” and well I had to put my new booties to the test. I probably still have every leather jacket I’ve ever purchased so I went through my arsenal in search of one with more rugged silver hardware to compliment my booties. This Jacket is super versatile and can be worn dressed up or down. The facets of it give it that chic vibe but the structured body gave me shape and nipped me right at the waist. Obsession

Now that I had the 2 main pieces of my fit, I was ready to complete the look. Being that the festivities were downtown, I knew that would entail barhopping and a ton of walking. I always reach for a waist bag when I’m on the move like that to not only make my life easier but also have one less thing I must worry about like a purse. I reached for this snake one (because I’m obsessed with it) and knew this bag with the leather boots and jacket was all I needed to slay. This one is from ZARA so you know it’s gone for good but I got you beauty with a dupe from Nordstrom Rack.

When having to wear a jacket all night and not stay in one place long enough to remove it, it’s best to go a little sexier for a night out. I usually wear a tube top or lace bodysuit to give whatever peek the jacket allows a little skin, but I decided on a mesh bodysuit and lace bra. Being that the snake bag was so edgy, I wanted to keep the look casually street and not too dressy. A solid base is how I like to move when I’m pairing a print. All black was my choice and it made the snake print pop and really broke up the line between the bodysuit and my jeans.

Outfit 101 “Duh

The jeans I chose had light distressing on the knees because when you wear a leather jacket you just have to set a tone (you know what tone I’m talking about) IT WORKED, I was obsessed with how the look turned out and it was perfectly paired. Here’s one of my “go-to” pairs from FashionNova. I wasn’t overheating in the more crowded places due to the mesh top I paired and was able to be hands free and not have to fuss with a purse thanks to the waist bag.  Mixing denim and leather with a splash of sexy and snake is like outfit 101… am I right?
