Hey Beauties! (am seriously stoked for 2020.. you have NO idea!) There are times when a girl needs to throw her hair up in a ponytail and get ish done! Usually I shy away from just rocking a pony solo dolo and stick with a ponytail and hat but sometimes you gotta glam it up and come correct. The weather where I live is no joke… we literally haven’t had a proper “winter” and you can get away with wearing shorts on any given day. Shorts and a pony are always a good idea when you’re hitting the town during the day. The fun part about styling shorts is deciding what top you’ll rock. Nothing speaks to me like a sleek branded tee, I can’t explain what draws me to them, but I buy what I like without even caring what brand I’m reaching for. I was scrolling on ASOS and was immediately drawn to the brand NICCE; depending on my mood, I go straight for the men’s t-shirt section on ASOS because there are WAY less pages to cypher through than the women’s. Right before my eyes was a simple branded black tee and I seriously can’t explain why I was drawn to it SO heavy.
Slide In The DM’s
I see it like this… you can literally dress up OR down anything you want and for me, I love the option of having a “basic tee” and seeing what I can do with it. When I saw the name, I knew it was familiar to me but was surprised to see it on ASOS. I didn’t really need justification to “add to cart” when the price point was right where it needed to be. After everything was said and done, it was copped and now… we wait.. in the meantime, I peeped their official website and saw a few things that caught my attention. There were several pieces I gravitated towards and was pleased to find they had a women’s line as well. One top I took a liking to was on the models for the websites “ad campaign”.
I couldn’t find it on the site or ASOS and liked it enough to slip into brands DM’s on Instagram to get the scoop. Within no time at all, I was receiving a response on when I could be expecting to see it drop on the website. BONUS POINTS for you NICCE… I love to see brands take pride in their customers and take the time to check DM’s and actually respond with a valid response. This made me even more excited to receive my order. I did withhold from placing another order until I got a feel for the quality and sizing of the package I was waiting on.
ASOS Shipping>Everything Else
It’s no secret that ASOS has the best shipping ever and as soon as I got that email stating my package was delivered, I couldn’t wait to get home. A little slicin’ and dicin’ of some packaging later and I had my newest addition in my hands, the quality was above par for the price point and the printing was opaque and bright. Nothing’s worse than buying something with white font and it has a yellow tint to it. This one didn’t show any sign of that and I was pleasantly pleased.
This was described as an average fit and didn’t claim to be oversized in any way, so I went for a medium to have the option of styling it up or down. Sometimes when things are too “oversized” I tend to restrict them to “casual wear” and I wanted the option to wear this a bit more fitted. Tossing it on for the first time, I was leerrrving it! I liked the feel, which was comfortable and soft to the touch, the fit was structured yet fitted at the shoulders and neck and the length was just long enough to allow me to wear it over shorts or tied up yet still fitted if I wanted to rock a pair of leather pants.

We have a WINNER… and sadly it hung on my “need to wear” rack for a few weeks. UNTIL, I was (surprise surprise) back on ASOS and decided to scope out NICCE to see if the “Ad Campaign” shirt happened to be available, sadly it wasn’t BUT I noticed a pair of black branded NICCE tube socks and BOOM.. I firstly remembered about the shirt I sadly hung up and slept on and then realized that I HAD to have the matching socks to due this tee its proper justice. A 3 pack for $13.00? ummmm… take all my money PLEASE! I guess it’s clear I ordered them, right? *wink*
Winter? What’s That?
Remember that “nonexistent winter” I told you about earlier? Well ya, we had record breaking temperatures on the way, and I had plans to be in Austin that weekend! Yay me! I immediately thought of my NICCE shirt and matching socks and my mind was made up.. ponytail, cycle shorts, and a side of NICCE was on the menu. I was anxiously awaiting my next ASOS delivery that had my new socks in tow, when it unexpectedly arrived in record time. Again, a WINNER…the quality was exceptional and thick (you weren’t able to see my skin through the fabric when I pulled them on or had them on completely) The logo was opaque and didn’t crack when stretched, these are men’s socks and I went for the smallest size (6.5-9) and had no issues with fit (I’m a 7.5 in women’s shoes for reference). I didn’t have to think too hard about styling up this fit since the weather left me no choice. The shirt and matching socks really had me feeling “put together” and I decided to add my gold link necklace for that feminine touch.
There was no question that my hair indeed had to be pulled up and out of the way (regardless of how much I hate it up… the Texas heat is no joke!) Glaring at myself in the mirror I decided to go for a leather cycle short to add some texture to the look and keep it from looking too casual. If you ever feel you need a simple pop or feel your look is getting too “flat” … add in a texture like leather or latex, or hardware… it does wonders for an outfit.

Simple But Deadly
Anytime I wear my gold link chain, I feel the absolute need to bust out my Comme des Garcons X Nike Shox collab sneakers. They showcase gold chains as well on each shoe in the DOPEST way (yes, I’m still obsessed with them) and they take any outfit up about 500 notches. Ayyyyyy… Look complete! I was living and super comfortable, I felt put together and stylish yet survived the heat cool as a cucumber. You can easily rock this shirt with a pair of high waisted denim shorts and slides or even a pair of nylon shorts and sneakers with the matching socks. If you were styling this for colder weather, you could pop on a fitted turtleneck, throw the NICCE shirt on top with a pair of distressed jeans, and voila… add your favorite boots or hightops and let’s get it sis!
