Hey Beauties! (am ready to sip Mojitos and chill beachside) let’s not beat around the bush and avoid the faux designer elephant in the room. I do not in any way shade anyone who wears replica items or purchases replica items BUT they just aren’t for me. I am very careful about where I purchase my items to avoid receiving fraudulent pieces. Now I know what you’re asking yourself right now… “Well then why are you wearing this replica YSL tee like nobody’s business?” I see it like this, an item that is downright a copy and meant to fully replicate a designer piece is different than a vintage tee with a brand on the front.  Anyone who is familiar with this designer knows that this is in no way meant to replicate an item that is actually being sold by the designer on a boutique floor. I saw this tee on a few of my favorite beauty and fashion influencers and was ready to take the plunge and actually check them out.

To my surprise they were being sold by Coal N Terry a site that I had previously made a few purchases from and was very happy with the products I received.  I was instantly reminded that I had forgot about this site completely and was mad at myself for it since all their pieces are unique and some even hand distressed and altered. Scrolling thru the website I of course wanted EVERYTHING but knew I would start with the oversized “Yves Saint Laurent” tee in black. I mean did you expect anything else? Haha! I noticed that the fit was “oversized” but I was still confused on the sizing and truly used the “model reference” to my advantage. The sizing was pretty easy to decipher by seeing the display photos. I love the website so much when it comes to showing the items since the photos and models they use aren’t heavily filtered or edited. You can see every line and detail in the merchandise and know exactly what you’re going to get. There are several views from all angles and I truly believe this will help you in deciding what size works for you.

I went for a Medium and prayed this would work. I was fortunate enough to shop around a time that a promo code was available and to be honest, this is what initiated my purchase and gave me the push I needed to buy. Something in me felt a little hesitation right before I hit ‘Submit Payment” but ehhhh… I live and breathe to try new things so who cares?!  While I was waiting for my package to arrive, I was also planning a trip to L.A. which means that I was basically doing nothing more than planning outfits *shrug*. I knew I wanted something a little different from my normal drip and had these really cute round sunglasses AND a new hat that was on standby to be styled up. I envisioned myself wearing the glasses and hat together so there was no way I was breaking up the pair.

I wasn’t steady tracking this item as I usually do everything else but was shocked at how fast I did indeed receive it. I was anxious to get it upstairs and rip into it. I can tell you that handling the item, there was weight to it which is always a good sign when it comes to quality. I tore into the package quicker than it took me to get it out of the mailbox.  I was extremely surprised and pleased at the quality of this tee. It was soft, thick, and the print was opaque and bright. It didn’t look cheap and actually was a steal in my opinion for what I paid for it.

Chic Drip

 I was low key LIVING! I can honestly say that I don’t think I had intentions of actually styling this item any further than a pair of joggers and trainers but after seeing and feeling the tee, I was moving in a new direction. I slipped it on for the final test and where do I even start? It was perfectly oversized and hit me at my favorite spot not only on the sleeves but the length was perfection as well. There is such a thing as “too oversized” and that tends to be a problem with me when it comes to sleeves.

 I’ve complained about my “Olive Oil” arms before so we all know these skinny AF arms don’t need to be drowning in a sleeve 4 times too large. The fit was excellent and my mind was made up, we WERE rockin this tee for sure. My poor sunglasses and hat were still solo dolo sitting lonely in my closet and just like that, the bells and whistles in my brain were steady ringing.  I pulled them out “just to see” what the vibe was paired with my new tee.  I love how that slogan is “a thing” like let’s put these shoes on “just to see” or let’s try this on “just to see”.  Hat ON, Sunglasses ON, Vibes ON, this was a whole lewk. I really loved the all black from the waist up palette and decided to keep it going with some black skinny jeans. You could easily ditch the round hat and go for a dad hat, sunglasses and some joggers with a sprinkle of your favorite trainers but I felt with the hat and sunglasses, I wanted a more chic look.

I didn’t want to look too pieced together so I went for a rawer, skinny, with sliced knee jeans and a pair of pointy toe cowboy Zara boots (sold out… I know, I know, annoying…) A great alternative would be chunky combat boots or even a stacked boot to give you a similar look.  I got you beauties with some alternatives.

Rodeo Drive & Cocktails

I couldn’t wait to rock my fit and pulled it out as soon as I got my opportunity.  Rodeo Drive and cocktails couldn’t have been more perfect *wink* I can honestly say that I had the opportunity for an outfit change before I made my way to Santa Monica Beach and ME… MODISH CHAMPAGNE didn’t take that chance and rolled straight through in the same fit. I’ve already placed a received the same style tee in a long sleeve version and love that one too. All in all, I reach for these tees more than I care to admit and can’t get enough of how cozy they are.
