Hey Beauties! (got that fresh set so we out here tapping these keys like NOBODY’S business) There are days that you just wake up and feel like a feisty biiisssshhhh and want everyone to know it. I experiment a lot with matching my fit to the mood. All black and some form of leather always takes its place in rotation when I wake up on this side of the bed. SASSY and BAD A**Y is how we’re moving. Everyone has their own spin on what makes them feel like a queen and for me its STREETWEAR and SNEAKERS *shrug* I live for graphic tees, oversized tees, cropped tees, and everything in between. When I laid eyes on this bomb a** tee that not only showcased all of the above but also added a tie detail….. queen… turn on the air because your girl was HOT for this one. There was literal smoke coming from the keys of my laptop when I was entering my order information.
I’ve never hit “submit payment” so fast in my life. I was scrolling on Instagram and discovered this brand called “Curtien” remember that your gurl lives for fashion and it’s my passion to scroll through tons of posts and websites to discover new things, not only for myself but to share with my CHAMPGANE Club (YOU). With that being said, I can’t say exactly how I stumbled across this photo but when I initially discovered them, I was stopped by a drop sleeve oversized tee worn as a dress and thigh high boots and immediately clicked on the profile. The color, style, and the way the model was wearing it had me intrigued.

Dope Yet Inactive?
Curtien’s Instagram page was definitely a vibe and I could tell they were my type of “shop”. Side Note: I always revisit the websites and Instagram pages of the brands I talk about to re-spark my interest to give you honest, raw opinions…. and now I want to place another order *WAAAHHH* I found like 3 new things I NEED. This Insta pic had me completely sold and as I scrolled down their feed, I was trying to decipher how long this Britain based brand has been around. The oldest picture on their Instagram page dates back to August 2018 and there aren’t a ton of photos as a whole and limited activity with the most recent photo being posted on March 6th. Regardless, I was on the site and on the hunt. Scrolling through I found the original t-shirt dress that caught my attention but there were literally TONS of things I wanted (story of my life) making my way mid page, I spotted the same tee but, in a cutout/tie up situation. It was instant attraction and I was literally committed. Now, in case you were wondering how I changed my mind so easily, it’s simple; it was unique. Sure, a t-shirt dress is dope and all but c’mon… a cutout lace up oversized tee? There was no question in my mind. My order was placed and well, you know the drill… Waiting game in full effect.

I usually order things and decide when they arrive how to style them up BUT something about this order had me excited and ready to start pairing. I haven’t addressed the elephant in the room yet and I guess now’s the time to just “go there” The text on the shirt read “Going Commando” now before anyone comes for me and forms an opinion.. We all know what that insinuates BUT the font was sickening, and the style of this tee was too killer to pass up. It doesn’t mean your gurl is out here rolling without her Calvin’s but damn if you want to roll like that… get it sis and I’ve seen shirts that say and condone worse so let’s loosen our judgy strings just a bit and roll on.
Since “I am such a good friend” (Gretchen Weiners voice) I recently discovered that the same style tee is available with 2 other graphic choices. I got you queens! *wink* Anywho, I was feeling like a rebel buying something with such verbiage so I went straight for my leathers *shrug* flipping through my options I came across these lace up leather leggings I purchased from Missguided (originally intended for a trip to Vegas that never saw the light of day) and “I just flipped a switch” eyyyyyyy. There was no doubt in my mind, these were IT. My package arrived right on schedule and came packaged to perfection. I was impressed it wasn’t sent in the usual parcel bags but in an actual box with tissue paper inside. Simple detail but it was unexpected. The quality of this tee was next level.. soft, thick, and perfectly cropped and oversized. I waited long enough; it was time to get this baby on. Just as I’d hoped, it landed a spot in my “Top Tees” it fit perfectly and hit me in all the right places. Cropped right at mid rib cage and the tie accents really accentuated the smallest part of my waist. This did wonders for my figure and gave that “snatched” illusion.
Locked and Loaded
I decided to slip into my leggings since it had been a minute since I’ve had them in the arsenal, and they had yet to make an appearance. Just as I remembered, they were so DOPE. They are super comfortable and despite how they look, extremely easy to slip in to. They have the hidden side zipper that was of great quality. I am the first to admit that I don’t have the best luck with zippers and since wearing these a few times, have never struggled with the zipper. The “leather” is super soft and doesn’t have that shiny “cheap” look <- no shade. I will say that they do leave “criss cross” indents on the legs for a bit when you take them off so when you consider my alternatives, keep that in mind. Don’t wear them and immediately slip into a dress or shorts haha give your blood a chance to regain proper flow. Quick fix would be to wear them loose but your girl is out here trying to be locked and loaded. As suspected, they paired together perfectly. I don’t know about you but I feel most comfortable when an oversized tee covers at least half of the bum and I got the best of both worlds and had a little detail in the front and my hiney covered in the back.. It was just everything.
I was FEELING myself too hard and felt like a bad bissshhh. No look is near complete without my beanie HELLLOOOO… There was no stopping me after this.. I did indeed want to have some fun with my kicks but keep it simple and not too over the top (if there is such a thing). I reached for my black metallic Air Force 1’s. The Air Force has a staple semi platform and these in particular were white, so it added the perfect break for the all black look. These sneakers played my signature Streetwear vibe perfectly and the metallic shimmer check was the cherry on top. You can NEVER go wrong with an all black look!
I’m sure you will hear me say this more than once, but as of right now, this is my favorite fit to date. Obvi this looked bomb but it’s more how I felt in it. I felt confident, edgy, risqué, and MODISH *wink* I don’t think there could have been a better fit to wear while having a photo session with the queen of “not giving a sh*t what people think” Cardi B. Don’t get it twisted though, I went straight to a few bars after in the same fit and didn’t bat an eye okkkuuurrr!
