Is That A Dress?!
It’s OK to have more than one aesthetic or interest when it comes to fashion and it’s definitely more than OK to actually utilize that interest. I don’t always reach for dresses but when I do, I add my street fashion twist to it. Seeing a dress used to immediately give me “Pinterest girl” vibes and was almost too pretty for me. I associated it with heels and glitter.. the complete opposite of me basically. I was SO wrong and can tell you that it’s dope to rock a dress with Jordan 1’s or even Doc Martens which is my favorite way! *wink*
Saving That Coin
I stumbled across this dress in Forever 21 and was immediately drawn to its flared skirt and lace up detail in the front. It helped that it was black so I wasn’t too scared of it *haha* I’ve always loved the dress and doc’s look but aside from wearing that combo in a more tighter silhouette... I’ve been wanting to style up a more “summer” dress in the same manner and was immediately inspired to create a look when I saw it. I went straight AHS vibes in my head and envisioned myself with black socks and my wide brim hat well because that’s how I roll. *wink*

Putting everything together was admittedly a little uneasy for me since I’m not one who throws on a flowy dress everyday. I threw on my biker shorts because I mean its a must and maybe in my head I could convince myself that I was just in an over-sized shirt and shorts.. (It’s not that serious, I know) but once I put the finishing touches to it like my wide brim hat and jewlery, I was feeling more “ME”. I will say that I got a little too into character so I decided to add my Moschino belt for a little hardware pop and add some shine with the gold. Once that was added, this look was complete. If you aren’t a fan of dresses you can always reach for a silk skirt to give you the same effect.
