ALL HAIL THE QUEEN

ALL HAIL THE QUEEN

Hey Beauties! (really struggling being a part of the “long nails or die” gang and having a septum ring… the struggle has been REAL!) Tie Dye has been calling my name lately and I have no explanation for it *shrug* I’ve been drawn to the print and finally decided to order a few pieces. Now a little disclaimer before I proceed… I’m not BOLD enough to wear a bright tie dye but I will dabble in the neutral/dark area. I love a good tie dye sock moment though... haaayy! When I say that I genuinely choose items to recommend to you beauties, I mean it! I published a post a few months ago (“Gone With The Wind Pants”… check it HERE) and gave styling options with this dope tie dye mesh bodysuit from Pretty Little Thing as one of them.

I legit stumbled onto it and couldn’t get over how much I liked it. I finished working *cough ya right…cough* I couldn’t wait, you know your girl threw that in her cart so fast and copped that baby immediately. *haha* I was stoked to share it with you queens but even more excited that I was able to purchase it on the spot to really give you a review on the product. I love when that happens! I enjoy talking about styling recommendations I actually love because I know and can attest to what you are purchasing when you take my advice. This is why I only speak on stores, sites, and brands, that I have personally bought from… even though sometimes things can be hit or miss, I keep it 100 always.

Influenced

I’ll be up front about one thing and say I was high key influenced by the model on the PLT website rocking this bodysuit. The styling of this particular bodysuit on the website (from the waist up) was done in pure Modish CHAMPAGNE fashion and I was living. Not only was this queen wearing a dope pair of trendy shades and chained chokers but she was rocking a beanie like nobody’s business. I immediately saw myself in this bodysuit just by this small style similarity. Just like that, it HAD to be mine. Now here’s the tea when it comes to mesh, you can either go full mesh and show a little skin or sometimes the mesh is SOMEWHAT opaque and you can get away with tastefully wearing your normal bra underneath. This is totally up to you and even at times a little tough to decipher online. Keep the possibility of wearing something underneath in mind when you are shopping for mesh.

I usually reach for a bandeau or strappy bralet of some sort if something is more sheer but I decide when I have it on my actual body if I can get away with just a bra or need a full tank underneath. Queens, don’t shy away from mesh just because you feel you HAVE to wear something sexy and revealing underneath, that is NOT the case and I’ve been known to thrown on a tank under my mesh pieces to get that hint of sheer on my arms or shoulders. even showing a tiny bit of cleavage through the mesh is just as dope and leaves more to the imagination. I really adore the look of a t-shirt dress over a mesh long sleeve to add more detail t o a simple tee( I have a post coming soon where I fully utilized that technique) *wink*

Tie Dye KWEEEEEEN

I received that beautiful unicorn parcel bag and knew it was going to be a great day *wink* I did just order the bodysuit this time so I knew exactly what I was getting into and at this point it was all business. You know you just “have to have” something when you order and pay shipping for just one item *haha* I pulled the bodysuit out of the package and was immediately in love with the color combination. The purple hints was outside of my comfort zone and I was all for it, that’s what initially caught my attention and that with the gradient black to grey tie dye, was LIFE! The material was super soft and wasn’t tulle like or thick. I’ve owned some mesh tops that have been stiff as a board and made me feel as if I was wearing a tutu on my chest. No bueno! This was perfect! The sleeves were long enough and hit below my wrist which I’m all for and featured a thong bottom which for me personally, I am indifferent about. Some consumers do only prefer thongs to not have to worry about panty lines or bunching but in my experience, it’s not a deal breaker for me. If something is of thicker material than I’ll check the vibe and see what I’m feeling. I usually end up adjusting a full bottom bodysuit into a thong anyway and live my best life... (too much info? ha)

I Got You

The fit was exactly what I wanted, it was fitted but not unflattering or tight and stuck to my torso, the fabric was soft on my skin and was thick enough to wear a bra but still sheer enough to show just enough skin. I personally went for a crop tank underneath to still allow a little see through belly action. It was a little chillier outside so I knew I definitely wasn’t going to cover up this gorgeous top with a jacket so a tank for me underneath was the right move. You could easily style this bodysuit with a pair of leather shorts and thigh high boots for a night out or even a pair of boyfriend jeans and sneakers. I went right in the middle and decided to pair leather pants and my ever so hype Comme des Garcons Jordan 1’s (click HERE to get the scoop… you don’t want to miss it… TRUST!) and add some chunky choker drop necklaces which I will give you all the tea on and tell you how much I adore adding them to a fit to step it up about 20 notches. I got you queens with my fave tie dye looks at the moment.

So what’s the vibe queens? Are you going to have a tie dye moment this spring and summer? Are you a fan of a bright pattern or more neutral pattern? Let me know if you like my recommendations! Fill your gurl in!

Cheers!
